UA Webstar 2008

And again it was the turn to start the Ukrainian Internet award UA Webstar (the site is only in Ukrainian) . A year ago, she was a pilot. This helped us to see the real mood of the public, to be engaged primarily in the organization. It turned out that such projects are really necessary and interesting.
So what has changed since 2007?

• 10 nominations and one additional
• tighter and dynamic rules
• 2 rounds vote
• additional jury vote
• New beautiful site (which is visible in all browsers!)
• a lot of press materials and bloggers

Although the list of nominations can be significantly increased, it was decided to focus on the most popular at the moment - blogs and social networks.

Unlike last year, the vote on UA ​​Webstar 2008 will be held in two rounds - this way only really popular sites will get to the top. But, taking into account the history of projects where Internet voting was present, it simply risks becoming the result of fraud and cheating. That is why, in addition to the usual voting of visitors to uawebstar.org, specially invited members of the jury - well-known representatives of the Ukrainian Internet - will choose their version of the winners. And when the results will be summed up before the New Year, everyone will be interested to know how the results of these two types of voting differ.

In the requirements for the sites that will be presented at UA Webstar 2008, the main idea can be traced - the site should be Ukrainian. That is for Ukrainians, it should carry useful information, no matter what language - Russian or Ukrainian. The uanet statistics pushes this principle - today it is still predominantly Russian-speaking. Although there are many Ukrainian-language sites that can be an example for all others.

Everyone knows such an award as Webby Awards. To become a winner in any of the nominations of this competition is a dream and a great honor for the author of any project. It’s a pity that Ukraine still does not have its own, really interesting and all-Ukrainian Internet award. Although sites worthy of the title of the best, of course, a lot. Time can show whether UA Webstar can be such an award. Because a star, no doubt, needs to be.
