Interactive map shows travel literary characters in the US
People love to travel, and some love the long road more than everyone else. At the same time, literary characters travel even more often than real people. An interactive map from Richard Kreitner and Steven Melendez (Richard Kreitner, Steven Melendez) shows the travels of dozens of literary characters in the United States.
In total, there are 1500 different points on the map , which are marked by the authors of the project after analyzing stories, novels and narratives whose heroes travel in the US and beyond. Perhaps there are some errors or inaccuracies on the map, but this is due to the fact that writers rarely give exact coordinates, being content with the name of geographical points or even a hint of a place on the map. Among other works that were used were such works: ')
Wild, Cheryl Strayed
The Cruise of the Rolling Junk, F. Scott Fitzgerald
Rolling Nowhere: Ted Conover Riding the Rails With America's Hoboes
A Walk Across America, Peter Jenkins
Cross Country: Fifteen Years and 90,000 Miles on the Roads and Clark by Robert Sullivan
The Lost Continent, Bill Bryson
Blue Highways: A Journey into America, William Least Heat Moon
On the Road, Jack Kerouac
Roughing It, Mark Twain
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, Robert Pirsig
Travels with Charley, John Steinbeck
The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, Tom Wolfe
The project is quite interesting, because we all love to read, and now you can view the movements of your favorite characters in a country known to all of us. Each point allows you to recall the actions of the hero in the work, and re-interpret a previously read novel or story.
