On Friday, it became known that the British recording company EMI refused to accept the offer of Warner Music, which wanted to buy it for $ 4.1 billion. The reason for the refusal was the negative forecasts of analysts and the opinion that shareholders would not approve the deal.
Nevertheless, the EMI management declared its readiness to consider any proposal for a merger if a decent price is offered and the approval of European anti-monopoly authorities is obtained.
Shares of the company after news of the failure of negotiations with WM increased significantly.
