R2D2 styled aircraft

The Star Wars VII campaign is gaining momentum: yesterday, April 16, a teaser for the film was released, but that's not all. The Japanese company ANA announced the development of a new design for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, which will be styled as the cutest robot in history (after WALL-E, of course) - R2D2, reports Theverge.com .

According to the developers, it was not too difficult. Both objects, the plane and the robot, have a conical shape, so there was no particular difficulty in styling the aircraft for the Star Wars character.

ANA says the current project is part of a five-year campaign to popularize Star Wars, and perhaps there will be more similar aircraft in their fleet. It is planned that Boeing «R2D2» will begin its work on international routes in the fall of this year.
