Casual games help people kill their bad habits

Smokers and people suffering from overweight, note the weakening of cravings for their addictions.

A recent study by the Information Solutions Group on behalf of RealGames shows that casual games that are played around 200 million a month on the Internet (according to the Casual Games Association ) have a positive effect on people's habits and their lifestyle.

The most important thing about the data obtained is:
- Among 2784 respondents of the survey conducted, monitoring their weight, 59% agree that casual games really distract from frequent eating and / or overeating, which leads to a decrease in the consumption of excessive food.
- Among 1324 smoking respondents, 42% percent agree that casual games really distract from smoking, which leads to a decrease in the frequency of tobacco use.
- 28% of survey respondents, who believe that casual games distract them from food, reported using games as a means to reduce food intake.
- 42% of survey respondents who believe that casual games distract them from smoking reported that they use games as a means to reduce smoking.
- Smokers, as a rule, play casual games on weekdays after work, before going to bed, or on weekends. Usually this is the time when they have the most opportunities to take a smoke break (unlike working time).
- Games of the genre "I am looking for" are the most popular among smokers. “Little Shop of Treasures” and “Mysteryville” are the favorites in this genre.
- Survey participants overwhelmingly note that they feel “relaxation and relief from stress” after the usual break for the game during the day. Casual games are a break with health benefits!
