Google loses twitter

“Guys, we are going offline for a weekend to serve the server. This is a good time to hang out with those you love. ”

Yes, microblogging has proven to be the most unstable services. Once they have a more or less permanent audience, failures begin. But what exactly happened to Jaiku?

It's simple, last year Google bought it. This led to the transition to a new engine - App Engine . Users suffer from the consequences of this transition. Whether the transfer was unsuccessful, or the engine itself was not adapted to the needs of the service.
The latest version is confirmed by the developers themselves. They were forced to expand the App Engine themselves. So, this weekend, the service should be restarted on the Jaiku extended version of Google App Engine.
Initially, the service worked on Python and did not experience any problems with stability. Note also that the Yayku user base is incomparable with Twitter and the nature of the problems of these services is different.

Another thing is surprising: technical problems do not even scare away new microblogging users. So in April and July there was a surge of interest in services of this type, which affected not only Twitter, but also its direct competitors - Jaiku and newbie Plurk .
