PSP 3000 not PSP 2

Tokyo, August 21 - SCEI announces the launch of a new version of the portable game system PSP-3000, equipped with an improved version of the already popular LCD display. The console will arrive on the shelves of stores in Japan, the United States and Europe in October 2008.

The new screen has inherited its dimensions and resolution from the current Slim & Lite model, while the quality of the images they provide has improved significantly, and the presence of the built-in microphone, which owners of previous models have asked us, will allow us to enjoy games and other content using voice functions without buying an external devices. And all this for the same money!

Another improvement was the new video output for connecting to TV. From now on, it supports the game not only through a progressive signal (480p), as it was in the PSP-2000, but also through interlaced (480i).

In addition to the classic black color at the time of release, the PSP-3000 will also be available in the White Mother of Pearl and Mystical Silver packages. Later will be available and other color options.

The weight of the new console will be 189 grams. Its dimensions, processor, RAM, list of supported formats and price will not change. The battery life is not reported.
