SolarCity, headed by Ilon Mask, now
offers its own small-scale power grids . The company itself calls its systems “microgrids,” these are small autonomous energy systems that can be installed in cities, including military bases, campuses, and on remote islands.
The system includes solar panels, Tesla batteries, a control panel that allows you to control the entire "energy cell". According to the developers, such structures can be used as an additional source of energy during some problematic moments (for example, a power plant accident, a spontaneous phenomenon in the region, etc.), and as an independent system.
Cells can be connected to a larger network, with further optimization of the energy flow, load and consumption. Each unit is self-sufficient, but if necessary it can adapt to the work of a much larger infrastructure.

The company offers systems to customers using various payment programs, including those where prepayment is not required. The developers argue that such a system allows you to get electricity, the cost of which is lower than the price of electricity from a conventional network. In addition, "energy cells" have virtually no effect on the environment.
Now SolarCity
offers its systems to customers from all over the world - all this is available in various regions.
