In the United States, after long trials and scandals, they finally allowed the sale of powdered alcohol under the " Palcohol " brand at the federal level. The creator of the product, Mark Philips, explains that first of all he tried to create a convenient alcohol for transportation. Instead of carrying with you, such as camping, glassware and excess liquid, you can take a bag of powder. At the site, you can add liquid directly into the bag, stir and drink.

Powdered alcohol is not a new idea, although it has not yet become widespread. The powder production process was patented back in 1974. Since then, several manufacturers have tried to promote their products, but without much success. In Germany, it was a powder under the brand "subyou", in the Netherlands - "Booz2go". In Japan, since 1999, you can buy powder sake. In 2009, St. Petersburg scientist Evgeny Moskalyov developed a way to make powder from vodka.

One of the reasons for the low prevalence of the product is its legal uncertainty. Usually, only liquid products fall under the definition of alcoholic beverages, so it is theoretically possible to sell powdered alcohol to all people, even minors. Therefore, for the organization of extensive sales is required to make changes to the legislation.

The scandals associated with obtaining a license for Palcohol, occurred since the appearance of mentions of him in the media in early 2014 . The first version of the product site called for secretly bringing Palcohol with me to places where it is prohibited, or adding it to food. Then after the announcement of the receipt of a license to sell a message appeared that the license was revoked . The reason for the withdrawal was that the license was allegedly issued by mistake.

Mark Philips made a video in which he called the first version of the site “test and unfinished”, explained why Palcohol would be inconvenient to secretly carry with him or quietly add it to someone to drink. But anyway, this time the license was issued according to all the rules, and soon the product will go to the shelves of American stores. Initially, it will be sold in five varieties: vodka, rum, cosmopolitan cocktail, margarita and lemon cocktail.
