How to make a personal font from your handwriting in three minutes

Startup MyScriptFont.com offers an excellent in simplicity, and also a free method of making your own font. Creating and editing vector shapes manually is a thing of the past.

Step 1

It is necessary to download pdf with a template to fill out and print. In the cells of the template you need to enter letters, numbers and symbols. The subtle outlines of the letters indicate which cells are intended for which particular letters. The characters from the standard alphanumeric keyboard are required to be filled in (unfortunately, Russian letters will not be there). Optionally, you can add all sorts of umlauts and other less used characters. It is better to write with a black felt-tip pen of average thickness.

Step 2

It is necessary to scan the creation in the “black and white, 300 dpi” mode (a good quality photo may be suitable).

By uploading a scan of the completed template to the site, you immediately get a font file in ttf or otf format. Is free. Having installed the font in the system, you can use it like any other font in any programs.
