Developer HoloLens died in a car accident

One of the developers of the futuristic project HoloLens Mike Hey (Mike Ey) died in a car accident in Redmond.

Mike, 30, worked on HoloLens technology, which in the future will allow digital objects to be superimposed on a real-world picture in augmented reality applications. “He said it was the coolest thing,” said Mike's girlfriend, Kelley Piering, on the local television station. “That it is not perfect yet, but someday it will become so.” A graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology came to the position of developer at Microsoft in June 2013.

Mike's dorm friends recall that, in a social sense, he was like Sherlock Holmes, as if he was working "at a different level" compared to the others. Being clever and gifted, Mike tried to achieve perfection in everything, whatever he undertook, and was very proud of it.

“He was the most reliable man in the world,” Kelly Peering said. “You could ask him about anything and be sure that it would be done, regardless of whether he knew something about it or not.”

All the developer’s dreams were interrupted on Saturday morning, when a car crashed into his car on the State Route 520 highway at a speed of more than 160 km / h. The culprit fled the scene, but Redmond police found and detained him.

When a similar tragedy happened in June 2013 with the co-founder of the Oculus Rift project, which simply turned the intersection into a green light, they rightly noted in the comments: “That's how good and intelligent people die because of some freaks.”

Mark's friends say that he himself was a very careful driver. Because of accidents on the roads of the United States, more than 30,000 people die every year, far more than in all armed conflicts combined.
