Finally, Microsoft will allow developers to create applications for the Xbox One. Today at the Games Developer Conference (GDC), head of Microsoft Xbox, Phil Spencer announced that Microsoft is launching its Xbox One SDK for select testers today, planning to allow any developer access to the SDK in the coming months.

Developers will be able to create applications that use the Windows 10 Universal App Platform, which covers PCs, tablets, phones, and Xbox One.
Earlier this week, Microsoft demonstrated the Windows 10 application running on the Xbox One and it looks like the development for the console will be pretty simple. Microsoft promises to discuss its plans for the Universal App and Xbox One at the Microsoft Build Developer Conference in April, but it is already officially announced that any developer can create an application for the console.
With the launch of the SDK for Xbox One, Microsoft is also expanding its ID @ Xbox program (Independent Developers @ Xbox). Although this program is mainly aimed at indie developers creating games for the console, Microsoft plans to expand the program to Windows 10. Indie developers will be able to create games for Xbox One and PC, and even for
Microsoft HoloLens .
