The British government has approved plans to create the first in Europe, the spaceport

Today, the UK government has approved plans to create a spaceport. This object will be located in the UK itself, although the exact location for construction has not yet been determined: the project team chooses the right place from several proposed options. According to the plans, this spaceport will be used both for sending space tourists into space, and for making high-speed flights, which allow to cover distances of thousands of kilometers in a matter of hours.

For the first time that a launch site in Britain may be built, it was announced last July. Then the authorities announced eight regions, where, presumably, such an object can be located. And now the plan to build the first spaceport in Europe has been approved - the British authorities believe that the country can become a world leader in the field of space tourism and super-high-speed flights.

Also, the British will try to attract companies like SpaceX and Virgin Galactic, inviting them to launch their spacecraft from this site.

It is worth noting that the idea of ​​super-fast flights, in the case of its successful implementation, is very promising. So, all the way from the UK to Australia can take only a couple of hours. At the moment, when you make a flight on an ordinary plane, it takes 14 hours. True, before this kind of flights, a number of approvals and bureaucratic procedures are still needed.

So far all that the British have are the drawings of the future facility and the approval of the government.
