
The Taiwanese company Arbor
announced a full-featured UMPC G0710 based on the Intel Atom processor. This device has been certified according to IP-54 standard and military standard 810F. This means that the device is not afraid of blows, falling on a hard surface from a height of up to 1.2 meters, shaking, moisture, dust and exposure to corrosive media.
Arbor G0710 is equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1025x600 pixels, a 2-megapixel camera on a CCD-matrix, a microphone, bluetooth and Wi-Fi modules, a gigabit network card, two USB ports, a 1.8-inch hard drive and 1 GB of RAM. To control the computer uses 8 function keys located on the front panel.
The dimensions of the device are 210x160x30 mm, weight - 1.4 kg. Data on the cost of this UMPC yet.

Previously, a similar product was presented by Panasonic - its protected computer based on Intel Atom is called Toughbook CF-U1. It also complies with IP-54 and 810F standards. The Toughbook CF-U1 ultra mobile PC uses an Atom Z520 chip operating at a clock speed of 1.33 GHz and a system bus frequency of 533 MHz. The amount of RAM is 1 GB, the role of the drive plays a solid-state disk based on flash memory (SSD) with a capacity of 16 GB (it is possible to install a 32 GB SSD). The display with a diagonal of 5.6 inches supports the resolution of WSVGA (1024 x 600 pixels) and is well readable even in direct sunlight.
The size of an ultra-portable computer is 180 x 148 x 55 mm, the weight is about one kilogram. The claimed battery life reaches nine hours. The role of the software platform can be played by the operating system Windows XP or Windows Vista.
The novelty is positioned for use in enterprises and in the field. The Toughbook CF-U1 model will be available in August for as low as $ 2,500 in the base configuration.
