Homeworld: The Return of the Legend

Once upon a time, back in 1999, Relic Entertainment studio released the first part of the game, which very quickly won the minds and hearts of gamers of those years. The game, which is still considered by many publications as the best representative of the genre and one of the games that changed the world.

This game was ~~Albert Einstein of~~ Homeworld .

The game turned out to be not only popular, but also with great potential, and already in 2000 Barking Dog Studios released a continuation of the saga called Homeworld: Cataclysm , which takes place several decades after the events of the first part. Originally conceived as a supplement for Homeworld, “Cataclysm” during the development process grew into an independent project and in the same year was published by Sierra Entertainment, a company known to many gamers.

By 2003, Relic Entertainment (again) processes game mechanics, controls, significantly improves graphics and sound, and releases the sequel to the original game, Homeworld 2. The action of this part takes place a hundred years after the events of "Cataclysm" and is a continuation of the story of "Hiigarians" who faced new threat.
In the same year, Relic Entertainment released the source code of the game to open access under a limited non-commercial license.

All three parts were a huge success both among fans of the RTS genre and space strategies, as well as among ordinary gamers and critics from the game industry.

In 2014, Gearbox Software captured the rights to the Homeworld series and announced the release of the Remastered Collection in 2015, which includes original versions of the first and second parts, adapted for HD, as well as completely revised versions of the first and second parts, with improved ( significantly improved ) graphics, voice acting and good old plot of the original parts.
