Intel came up with protection against laptop theft

Intel Corporation on the IDF forum introduced the Kill Pill technology ("Death Pill"), which allows you to protect your laptop from theft, writes TG Daily. Module Kill Pill is placed on the motherboard. Thus, for example, formatting a hard disk will not allow getting rid of the protection system.

Kill Pill allows you to track a computer through the web interface via GPS and its IP addresses. Also, a laptop can take a picture of a person sitting behind him and send a picture to the real owners.

The owner of the laptop can send a special signal to it that will erase the encryption keys from the firmware and make the contents of the hard disk unreadable. In order to recover information, it is enough to transfer the erased keys to the laptop again.

Interesting idea :) It is interesting to see it in practice :)
