Translate.ru changed interface

Translate.ru, an online translator, has always been distinguished by an extremely inconvenient interface: a tiny window for translating phrases, ridiculous restrictions on the maximum amount of text, advertising intrusion, and incomprehensible site navigation. Not every visitor could find a page from the first time on which the translation was directly carried out.

It got to the point that many people preferred to use Google Translate , which works much worse with the Russian language, but the service is very simple and convenient.

After looking at all this, the PROMT company decided to radically change the interface of its site. Like competitors from Google, they moved the translation window directly to the main page of the site. Advertising "Runner" was sent to the very basement of the main page. The design was improved - and now the service looks much nicer, almost catching up to the above-mentioned Google Translate in exquisite minimalism.

The company also states that with the change of the site, the quality of translation has been improved.

New Translate.ru works in two modes: simple and advanced. By selecting the latter, the user gets access to the toolbar with additional services and settings. They allow you to check spelling, transliterate untranslated words, call "help", connect a virtual keyboard. The result of the transfer can be sent by e-mail and printed.

In addition, a website translator is available on the site, which allows you to switch between the original text and the result of the translation. The source code of each translated fragment can also be seen in a pop-up window.

To improve the quality of translation, the user can connect thematic dictionaries from different subject areas. In particular, among the topics there are such as personal correspondence, cars, sports, software and business correspondence.

Improvements also touched upon the translation algorithms that have been worked out and tested by the company's specialists for more than two years. The new version allows you to analyze the context and correctly translate most of the linguistic structures and stable expressions.
