TaigaPhone runs on Taiga firmware (a modified version of Android). The smartphone will be distributed along with software products InfoWatch - this is Natalia Kasperskaya’s main company.

Alexei Nagorny, co-owner of Taiga System, told Izvestiya that Russian engineers had completely constructed this device on their own - here their own design, engineering and circuit design. Made phone in China. Now released a limited batch of smartphones for testing.

"Taiga firmware has several levels of protection," explained Nagorny. - The user, at his discretion, can disable or enable individual components of the system. For example, you can completely turn off access to the camera or location. Or make a phone “brick”, which can only call. Or even will not be able to call, only show who is calling. Access to the microphone can also be disabled. The setting is controlled only by 1-2 buttons. ”

The device has a visual alarm that will notify the user if some application on his phone tries to turn on the microphone or send a message.

When developing the Russian phone, all the nuances were taken into account in order to minimize the risk of wiretapping: “When you turn off, the regular phone is in standby mode. For example, the GSM module, which allows you to record your location by base stations, while continuing to work. We have solved this problem. There is a special solution that allows you to completely turn off the phone, ”said Aleksey Nagorny.

According to experts, new smartphones can be in demand in law enforcement agencies and other organizations that are interested in protecting information.
