Another 50,000 Bitcoin Ross Ulbricht will go under the hammer

The US Marshals Service will once again hold a Bitcoin auction - this time the auction will be held on 50 thousand units of cryptocurrency, which previously belonged to Ross Ulbricht, the founder of SilkRoad. At the current rate of 50 thousand Bitcoin - this is about 11.7 million US dollars.

It should be noted that this is not the first large lot of bitcoins that the Marshals Service put up for auction. In November last year , a similar auction was held , however, then the rate was slightly higher, and the cost of a lot of 50,000 bitcoins was estimated at 19.5 million US dollars.

The November bitcoin sales scheme consisted of two stages. Thus, in the first round of the auction, 10 blocks of 2,000 bitcoins each were sold, and in the second round, 3,000 units of cryptocurrency. To become an auction participant, you had to register on the USMS website and deposit $ 100,000 or $ 150,000 for each of the rounds, respectively. Among the auction participants were previously seen SecondMarket, Coinbase Yelp, BNP Paribas, Bitcoin Shop, Matrix Capital, Wrangley Capital, DRW Trading Group, DigitalBTC, BitcoinS Reserve.

The current scheme of selling bitcoins will look similar. At the same time, bidders cannot see the bids of other bidders, and change their own bids after confirmation. And the winners of the auction will be announced in early March of this year.

Registration of participants and the auction itself will be held here .
