The modified apples are currently being tested by the FDA until its experts have made a final decision.

If you cook "updated" potatoes at high temperature, then it forms less of the chemical substance acrylamide , characteristic of plants containing starch. It is believed that potato chips made from GMO potatoes will be less harmful than normal, leading to the development of certain types of malignant tumors.

In the late 1990s, the biotechnology company Monsanto offered farmers GMO-resistant potato to the Colorado potato beetle.
