Alec Falkenham, a 27-year-old candidate from the Canadian University of Dalhouse, has come up with a tattoo removal cream . Unlike laser removal technology, in which the skin needs to be cauterized, the cream should help the body remove the pattern from under the skin in a natural way. Ink dissolves in the body with the help of macrophages.

Macrophages - cells of the body that can eat unwanted bacteria, the remnants of dead cells and other foreign or toxic particles for the body. When ink is injected under the skin, a part of the dye is captured by macrophages and spreads through the lymph nodes, however, most of the stained macrophages remain in place. This ink, shining through the skin, and make up the picture.

A new cream causes the body's immune response - fresh macrophages rush to the picture, which devour the ink and take it to the lymph nodes. Thus, the body gradually absorbs the ink from the pattern and the tattoo is absorbed. No injections and no skin burns are required.

Prison break

Employees of the department of the Institute for Innovation and Industrial Relations who help Falkenham in his research, argue that the results of experiments on pigs were very promising. Now they are working on a patent application. It is not known yet when the cream can go on sale, and how many times it will be necessary to process the drawing for its complete disappearance. The approximate price of a one-time treatment of a 10 by 10 cm skin area is $ 4.50. The cream should work well on tattoos older than two years.
