Recently,
we talked about the international project
MediaTek Labs , which is aimed at independent professionals in the development of gadgets. Just three months after the start of the project in September 2014, the number of registered users reached several thousand people. One fifth of them were representatives of Russia and other countries of Eastern Europe.

In December 2014 compared to November, the number of registered users increased by 37%. Russia was in first place in terms of growth rates in the number of participants at MediaTek Labs - in December, 14 times more developers registered than in November. The total share of Russian-speaking enthusiasts has already exceeded 10%. For comparison, the total share for all other European countries is also equal to 10%. The traffic to the site
labs.mediatek.com also naturally increased , in December among Russians there were 10 times more regular users of the resource. However, in Ukraine the pace is even higher - 12 times.

The MediaTek Labs community was created to assist developers of promising projects in the field of wearable electronics and the Internet of Things. Here, novice professionals can bring their interesting ideas to the prototype stage, and then mass production. Now MediaTek confirms these possibilities in practice: a number of pilot projects of Russian participants have already entered the prototyping stage, and cooperation with suppliers of necessary electronic components is being established.
Several public announcements are expected in the coming months as part of MediaTek Labs. We can only rejoice at such high activity of the Russian teams and individual developers. And, of course, continue to help them with advice and advice at any stage of project preparation.
PS Note that projects based on the MediaTek LinkIt ONE platform could be seen in January at the
AT & T Developer Summit & Hackathon event in Las Vegas. There, MediaTek held the “MediaTek Labs IOT and Wearables Challenge” competition, in which the prize $ 10,000 went to the Sensus team - a project to monitor temperature, atmospheric pressure and a number of other parameters in the premises.
