Roskomnadzor believes that Twitter violates the law of the Russian Federation, without disclosing personal data of Russians

Roskomnadzor is extremely dissatisfied with the fact that Twitter does not disclose personal data of Russian users at the request of the Russian Federation.

“Judging by the statistics given in their official report, the social network in 2014 satisfied nearly 3,000 requests from the US government to disclose personal information of users. Of the 108 requests for disclosure of data on attendance of accounts of popular users sent to the administration of the social network Roskomnadzor, not one is satisfied, ” said the head of Roskomnadzor Alexander Zharov.

Thus, “Twitter consistently does not fulfill the requirements of Russian legislation, including those aimed at countering extremism.”

"The corresponding official request for clarification of the position of Twitter will be formulated and sent to the administration of the social network in the near future," said Zharov.
