Loss of a gadget is always bad, but it may be even worse if you lose access to important information, including passwords and logins to various resources. I lost my laptop - I gave all the access to Internet banking and the domain registrar to anyone who could find a laptop. Information accessed by an attacker or one who has found a loss often costs many times more than a gadget.
In principle, the laptop can somehow be password-protected, install anti-theft programs and perform a number of other similar actions. And what to do with the cloud operating system Chrome OS and Hromobukami? The other day, system administrators were able to
remotely lock devices .
Unfortunately, so far only the administrators of special chromabuk types have got this opportunity: Enterprise / Business or Education. According
to one of the developers of the system , owners of ordinary chromed books will not be able (yet) to lock their devices. Well, and users who work with educational or corporate Hromobooks may ask the administrator to block their device. When blocking, the person who found (stole) the laptop will see the message when the device is turned on. The text of the message will indicate that the device is blocked, plus a request to take the device to a specific address.

In order to disable the device, the administrator must perform the following steps:
- Sign in to the admin console at admin.google.com .
- Go to Chrome Devices> Devices.
- Select active or waiting device.
- Click Advanced and select Disable.
- A warning will appear. To complete the process, click Disable.
