Inmarsat is the second largest satellite network after Iridium. Its coverage is 98% and is provided by 11 geostationary satellites. However, data transmission requires pointing to the satellite or, in the case of an omnidirectional antenna, the line-of-sight of the satellite. The derived satellite was the second of the new, 5th series of satellites.
