Adblock in real life

Every day we are faced with dozens of brands and advertisements. They have so penetrated our lives that it is easiest to ignore them.

American student Jonathan Dubin (Jonathan Dubin) came up with a way out of the situation: with the help of virtual reality glasses he made a gadget that removes advertising , including logos and brands, from the surrounding reality.

Jonathan himself calls this device "AdBlock for real life." In fact, it works like an Internet ad blocker.

The software uses Python and OpenCV to monitor photos from a webcam and compare them with a database of famous brands and logos. In the case of recognition of advertising it is blurred (filter blur is applied).

The author is currently working on updating the database with brands. He has already brought there Dr. Pepper, Hershey's, McDonalds, Facebook, Starbucks and some other most annoying logos that they never want to see again in life.
