MGTS will install terminals in Moscow with Internet access, access to the portal Gosuslug and Skype
In Moscow, they will reduce the number of payphones by a third and install terminals for access to the network and to the portal of state services, recharge mobile phone accounts and video chat. This is reported by the newspaper Izvestia, citing the Department of Information Technology of the Government of Moscow. The main requirement of the city authorities for new devices is the ability to call social and technical services.
MGTS General Director Andrei Yershov noted that payphones turned from communication devices into outdoor advertising vehicles and that they need to be transformed into another service. Payphones can become Wi-Fi access points and a means for making calls via Skype or another video calling service. According to the general director of MGTS, an experimental device with a touch screen was demonstrated to the authorities.
In Moscow, there are 3017 payphones: about a thousand payphones on the streets and two thousand - in public institutions. Most of the calls from the devices go to social, emergency services, the police and ambulance. ')
