How to stay in full health using a 3D printer

Good day to all. Today I wanted to touch on a very sensitive topic that printer manufacturers (even I), and of consumables prefer not to raise. All users of desktop 3D printers are aware of basic precautions (at least, I hope so), but just in case:

1) Before leaving the printer to work alone, make sure that the first layer is well laid down and nothing comes off. It is no secret that the success of printing by more than half depends on the first layer.

2) Make sure that the plastic coil is not wound, and will quietly unwind from the reel. (I had once, when I could not get a flat supply of plastic because of the eternal distortions of the coil, I threw the thread through the curtain rod and left the reel on the floor. So, the reel successfully shook the table and the printer successfully raised and hung in the air when i came into the room. (i was lucky to hike because i was at home)
')
3) You do not need to check with your hands (any parts of your body) whether the surface is heated. In general, I do not advise anything to touch. because even a carriage, can squeeze a very cool finger. (And if it is also a central carriage with a heating surface, it will not seem like a bit when it presses a hand to one of the walls of the printer and burns it with a heated hot end). Ksati, gloves are not a panacea either, they only wind up on the way. Check everything through the printer.

4) I hope you don’t need to write about age, and all caring parents understand that this toy is for a child who is already at a conscious age.

5) Only print in a well-ventilated area. Especially ABS plastic.

Today I want to talk about the last point. Tolley, I missed something, or I didn’t really see a big spread by the producers of this information. Of course, there are closed printers, in which there is a special filtration system (I saw only one such, and its price tag was for 400 rubles). Just a closed chamber, nothing will help, unless there is no exhaust that will remove all the air from the chamber. outside.

And now, after today I accidentally stumbled upon an article on a wiki about ABS plastic, where the use of ABS plastic in 3D printers is not recommended in black and white. Here is an excerpt from the article.

“The real danger that an ABS plastic can pose to a person can arise in several cases:
Heating (forming acrylonitrile vapor) of the material during production (casting, extrusion). Requires special closed boxes with powerful hoods and remote control process. Therefore, it is much safer to refrain from using ABS plastic in the manufacture of prototypes using 3D printing technology. It is best to use a safer PLA plastic (polylactide) for this purpose. „

I have a question. How dangerous is home use of ABS plastic in 3D printers. Please answer me this question, I think many will be interested to read about it. Please argue your answers in the comments.
