Choosing a nano-quadrocopter for $ 20

Exactly one year passed after I wrote the post “ Goodbye quadrocopter or be careful with aircraft ”. Let me remind you that then my DJI Phantom, together with the suspension and GoPro, flew away in an direction unknown to me, and his searches did not give anything. What was my surprise when before the new year I received a message:

The letter was from the organizer of dog sledding , which I then went to shoot. And my joy knew no bounds, even the new year we met in company with this person, driving a car of 1600 km to the very heart of the depths of Karelia.

The state of the copter is a big topic for a separate article, but for now I can only say that the basic elements perfectly function and the copter is already flying. However, I decided not to repeat my mistakes and study piloting, starting with more budget models, namely with nano-quadrocopters worth ~ $ 20, which will be discussed.


DJI Phantom compared to SYMA X12 and Cheerson CX-10 nano-copters

In the same new year I was lucky to test the first such quadcopter - Cheerson CX-10 . This:



He was brought from Finland by my old friend and demonstrated on him the skills of his piloting, performing various tricks. I also flew a little and I can say that for a beginner the control is quite simple, the truth requires getting used to the joysticks. In the meantime, I got used to it - the copter managed to find both the wall and the ceiling, however, due to its low weight, it is much more difficult to break it than an adult copter, so that you can not be afraid of small “crashes”, but if there are additional screws in the kit.

Somewhere in a month, my friend sent another testimonial for the Cheerson CX-10:

If you throw a 10-ku and give the stick height, it will fly to where it was oriented. And it is good if you are not in the eye. In general, it can only be thrown in a position close to the horizon.

And the list of recommended mini copters got Syma X12 , which does not have this problem.

Syma X12 (even though it is a bit larger than 10-ki) is absolutely unerringly oriented in space as it is not thrown. Instantly turns like a cat before landing. Management is much easier and more accurate. And the screws look safer. In general, I recommend Syma-X12-Nano!

The opinion of a friend who owns several mini-copters and one adult DJI Phantom is certainly significant, but I decided to make my choice based on the analysis of the most important criteria that characterize mini-quadcopters:
1. Flight duration
2. Remote control distance
3. Charging time
4. Sizes

We will compare the most suitable (in my opinion) mini-quadcopters:
1. SYMA X12 - $ 23.38
2. Cheerson CX-10 - $ 18.45
3. Cheerson CX-11 - $ 16.12
4. Udi u830 - $ 32.88

The Cheerson CX-11 remote control is as small as the Cheerson CX-10, but the Udi u830 excelled by creating an original remote control that has only one joystick and reacts to the movement of the hand:



For myself, I chose the SYMA X12, since the large console is more similar to adult models, the quality of the copter screws seems more attractive and of course stability is a rather important criterion for me. And since in other parameters it is comparable with its competitors, I ordered it for $ 23.38 for Ali :
