Mozilla has released a special version of Firefox with Oculus Rift support.





Users working with the Firefox Nightly browser version can now use the Oculus Rift video glasses for the test of additional tools, the WebVR API. The owner of the video glasses can now view all sorts of virtual volume objects directly in the browser. This may be, for example, a 3D car model on a 1: 1 scale, which the manufacturer has placed.



This may be part of the game, or a model of a new device provided by the developer. In the vastness of the web, there is not so much content intended for video glasses owners. But this situation is beginning to change, since augmented reality glasses, virtual reality glasses are becoming increasingly popular.



As is known, now, besides the Oculus Rift, several models of glasses from other manufacturers have appeared at once. There are original solutions, for example, Samsung Gear VR, where an additional device serves as a display and a “brain” of glasses - in this case, Galaxy Note 4. Not so long ago, Microsoft introduced its Hololens .

Provided WebVR is supported by all modern browsers, owners of Oculus VR, Gear VR, Google Cardboard and all other video glasses models can work with virtual content. To get started, you need to install a special version of the browser and install WebVR Oculus Rift Enabler .
