Motorola couldn't take domain from MOTORAZR fan

Motorola was unable to take away the domain MOTORAZR.com from its current owner, Vincent Guyen , who, in fact, coined the word MOTORAZR.

Vinsen Gayen invented this expression in July 2004, and then registered the corresponding domain , planning to launch a site dedicated to mobile phones on it. In October 2006, Motorola filed a complaint with the World Intellectual Property Organization (World Intellectual Property Organization, WIPO), demanding that the domain become the property of the company.

Despite the fact that the company filed an application for registration of the MOTORAZR trademark in June 2005, the brand (according to its approval) began to be used in May 2004, two months before Guyenne registered MOTORAZR.com. However, the company was unable to provide evidence of this fact, as requested by WIPO representatives. At the same time, the domain owner was able to prove that he invented the expression that formed the basis of the disputed domain - and, based on all these facts, WIPO refused to satisfy Motorola's complaint on all counts.
