Dangerous bacteria in the mobile phone is 18 times more than in the toilet

The British tabloid DailyMail reports on a study by the University of Surrey, which shows that the phones can be inhabited by dangerous bacteria.

Today, many of us do not let go of phones - even in the pre-smartphone era, they could not only connect with other people, but also get on the Internet or take advantage of media opportunities. Modern app stores only add new features that make the phone indispensable for navigation, chats, games.

Often used items - keys, coins, money bills - collect dirt when used. There are no exceptions and handsets. In many cases, the accumulated microorganisms are relatively harmless, they are only the result of poorly washed hands or touching dirty surfaces. But there are also dangerous cases that threaten with a rash on the skin, blood and food contamination.

British scientists loaded the hulls of 30 telephones into Petri dishes containing an environment that is favorable for the growth of microorganisms. The photos show the results of a three-day growth , and not the contents of mobile phones at the time of the start of the experiment.

In some cases, there have been instances of Staphylococcus aureus. Approximately one fifth of the population is believed to be the carrier of this bacterium, which persists on the skin and mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract. And these people are not sick.

But in case of violations of the skin, staphylococcus can get into wounds and cause infectious diseases. The severity ranges from acne, impetigo, boils to pneumonia, meningitis, sepsis, and infectious-toxic shock. The bacterium can easily spread across infected surfaces from person to person.

Another dangerous representative of the phone fauna is Bacillus mycoides. Usually this bacterium is found in the soil, that is, most likely the device or its user recently had contact with the ground.

Tests have shown that, on average, a mobile phone carries 18 times more bacteria than a drain handle in a men's room. Almost a quarter of the tested phones had a tenfold excess of the infection level. One copy was so dirty that a simple conversation about it threatened indigestion.
