New special services radar can track movement inside the house
A number of US law enforcement agencies, including the FBI and the US marshal service, have been using Range-R radars for two years to determine movement through a wall — for example, inside a house. The fact that these devices are used without court orders, and their use is carefully hidden, caused a wave of public outrage. The use of devices by special services became known only in December. The device, which costs $ 6000, cannot, as in Hollywood films, "see" through the walls and show a picture of what is happening inside. This is just a radar based on the radiation and reception of reflected radio waves, which shows the presence of moving objects inside the room and the distance to them. The radar is able to allocate people in the building even by their breathing and works at a distance of up to 25 meters.

Back in 2001, the US Supreme Court explicitly prohibited the use of any sensors and devices for “peeping” inside the house without first obtaining a search warrant. In the states where the idea of “my home is my fortress” is implemented in practice, people are outraged by this possibility of invasion of privacy. The case of using this device became known in December, when information about scanning the house of a suspect who violated the conditions of release on parole was made public in court.
