Blackhat - a new blockbuster, trying to realistically show the work of hackers

According to ArsTechnica , the new action-film “Blackhat”, which includes a carder who is hunting an evil hacker, will not be some kind of revelation or especially interesting to watch, judging by the early reviews. However, due to the scrupulousness of the director, who invited two computer security consultants at once, at least the actions of computer geeks on the screen will look realistic. In one of the scenes, a group led by convicted carder (Chris “Thor” Hemsworth), who was pulled out of prison to chase a hacker, with an ax breaks into the server of a nuclear power plant, which has been damaged by the villain, and tries to extract information from the damaged hard disk.

One of the consultants was Chris McInley , known for his epic burglary of the OKCupid dating site in order to find the girl of his dreams. A prototype of the protagonist, embodied by Hemsworth, was Max Butler, known by the nickname Max Vision - computer systems security consultant and famous carder. The Kingpin book was written about him, whose author, Kevin Poulsen, was the second consultant on the film.

The director really wanted to achieve realism in his film in relation to computer technology, so even at first he planned to teach Chris the basics of programming. When this did not work out, he stopped at the fact that Chris himself, with great speed and with great speed, drives various Unix commands into the terminal. True, it cannot be said that there were no unrealistic burglary scenes in the film (like the main character hacking into a prison network film from a contraband smartphone), and, moreover, this realism does not seem to save the film itself, stuffed with standard chases, fights and shooting. The current imdb-rating of the film is at around 5.5 points. So, while we are still waiting for an interesting and realistic movie about burglars (rather than a colorful fabulous presentation like Swordfish and Hackers or a boring and ridiculous act in The Net style).
