Solar Impulse team has published a round-the-world travel route.
A few minutes ago, the Solar Impulse team sent me an email with a map of the world tour route. The journey will begin on March 1 and will take from 4 to 6 months with several stops; in 25 days of flight the plane will cover 35 thousand kilometers.
The map is clickable, and some details are under the cut.
Today at the press conference , the Solar Impulse team spoke about the route of the world tour and recalled the technical characteristics of the aircraft with solar batteries. Although this is not the first aircraft capable of flying without fuel, it is the first aircraft capable of overcoming entire oceans and continents. ')
World tour will include 25 days of flight, which will take place within 4-5 months depending on weather conditions. During this time, the plane will cover a distance of 35 thousand kilometers. The route may be changed depending on the geopolitical situation in some regions.
There will be an attempt to stay in New York - if this is not prevented by a tornado.
The twelfth flight ends with a landing in Abu Dhabi, from where the journey starts.
Airplane Solar Impulse 2 has already been delivered to Abu Dhabi, preparations are under way for departure.
