New 2015: "flashlight" with the Internet and the flagship in gold
While all of Russia was immersed in the rage of the New Year holidays, the IT world was teeming with the premieres of new gadgets and technologies. We did not stand aside and presented several, if I may say so, diametrically opposed devices.
As you may know, under the terms of the deal, after the acquisition of Nokia Devices & Services, Microsoft retained the right to use the Nokia mobile brand. And if Lumia smartphones have recently received the name of the now-parent company, then entry-level phones come out (and will be released) under the name Nokia. Therefore, there is nothing surprising in the fact that the new model with the numerical designation 215 was released under this brand.

Nokia 215 is the most affordable phone from Microsoft with the ability to connect to the Internet and pre-installed social services. This is the company's own view on the problem of accessibility to the worldwide network, especially in developing countries: according to Internet World Stats, in 2014, 60% of the world's population still did not have access to the Internet.
The novelty is intended primarily for those who need an entry-level mobile device not only for communication, but also for connecting to the Internet and using various services and social networks.
The device works on Series 30+ platform with a number of pre-installed applications (you can’t install new ones or delete existing ones), among which we should especially mention Opera Mini browser, Bing search service, Twitter, Facebook and Facebook Messenger clients. This gives us hope that, thanks to the appearance of an affordable package solution in the form of the Nokia 215, many people in the world will have a good and affordable opportunity to discover the network and popular services.
The phone works only in networks of the 2nd generation, which is quite enough to access all the above services. Other technical features include a 2.4-inch color display with a resolution of 320 × 240 pixels, a main camera of 0.3 megapixels, an MP3 player, FM radio and, of course, a flashlight. The battery capacity of 1100 mAh will provide continuous operation up to 20 hours of talk time or 21 days in standby mode.
The above technical component of the device is enclosed in a rather compact case (for fans of dry figures: the device dimensions are 116x50x12.9 mm, weight is 78.4 g). The traditional feature of Nokia phones has remained unchanged: the new model will delight users with its traditionally bright design and well-thought-out ergonomics.
In Russia, the Nokia 215 will be available in a version with 2 SIM cards in a bright green, black or white case. The estimated retail price will be 2 590 ₽, the model is expected to be available in the 1st quarter of 2015.
As if in contrast to the above model, we also showed flagship devices in spectacular new color combinations last week: the Lumia 930 Gold and Lumia 830 Gold differ in frame (in these models, the outer frame of the case is not a decorative element, but a part of the frame on which all technical stuffing) gold. Polycarbonate covers of classic black and white colors were also matched to the frame.
It is planned that both models will appear at the beginning of the first quarter of 2015 in a number of countries in Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, the Middle East, Africa, as well as in China and India. On the availability and cost of them in Russia will be known later.
As for the technical characteristics, the devices have not undergone any changes - the original Lumia 930 and Lumia 830 devices, which we described earlier, differ only in the external design.
Recall that the Lumia 930 features a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with a clock frequency of 2.2 GHz, an Adreno 330 graphics core, two gigabytes of LPDDR3 RAM and an internal storage capacity of 32 GB. Support for memory cards in this model is not provided. Vice-flagship Lumia 830 has a quad-core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with an Adreno 305 graphics chip, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal memory, expandable with microSD memory cards (up to an impressive 128 GB).
