Microsoft is experimenting with mail sorting.

Developers from Microsoft Labs presented an add-in for Outlook 2007 called E-mail Prioritizer , which should help IT-industry workers cope with the huge influx of email, get rid of the associated stress and loss of productivity.

The program sorts mail and tries to determine which letters are most important for you personally. The activity of correspondence with a specific addressee, the time of response to his previous letters to you, etc. Each of the ten factors is assigned its own priority (the user can customize them, as well as create their own priority rules), and the importance of the letter is calculated on the basis of all the rules. This complex computational process in a folder of 450 letters takes about a minute.

In addition, the program has a separate “Do Not Disturb” button, that is, a kind of pause button for incoming mail. Choose how many minutes “do not disturb” you - and incoming mail does not arrive during all this time.
