
The service of streaming music playback, Spotify, to my personal great regret, does not provide its services publicly in the Russian Federation due to the complex system of copyright and copyright protection, told
some details about the use of the service by users who open a whole new world and details of the current music streaming Internet on the example of the largest service in this category.
Looking at the data below, it becomes clear why both Apple and Google are strongly interested in developing their own streaming services - this can increase both the number of devices themselves and the time they are used, because according to Spotify statistics, 42% of users listen to music on smartphones and another 10% - on tablets. In total, this is 52% of the audience, the balance is divided by 45% with the desktop application and 3% using the web player.

Let me remind you that Spotify presented the possibility of listening to music on mobile devices and tablets only in 2013 - it is obvious that since then the decision has justified itself more than once.

At the same time, Spotify has a fantastic level of using the service - on average, totally on mobile devices and desktops, each user listens to music for 150 minutes a day.
Spotify gives an example of how user-friendly the mobile and desktop interfaces are - for example, the user creates playlists in an application on a computer, but listens to them primarily from a smartphone. Or it finds a new artist using Discover in the mobile version, then subscribes to it and listens to the entire album in the application.
Finally, 55% of Spotify users have connected their Facebook account to the service, which allows them to receive a musical social sub-graph of friends listening to music similar to yours.
Initially, at the start of the service in the US, Spotify could only be used by logging in to a Facebook account, and, as practice has shown, the rejection of this decision was also a sensible step, because 22 million people use Spotify, but do not connect a music account to social Facebook. .
All this is good news for Spotify and not so good for its other competitors, at least for now. Indeed, this year we are expecting the release of Apple’s streaming audio and video playback service, and Google Music has been around for some time, and both companies, owning mobile platforms, can “release” Spotify from their own market by providing a pre-installed application to each user, or lowering the price of your own service below $ 10.
It remains to wish good luck and rapid development of Spotify, as well as, without doubt, global growth, particularly in Russia.
