It was obtained as a result of joint work of scientists from Germany, the UK and the USA. Teixobactin was isolated from the bacterium Eleftheria terrae.

Testing "teixobactin" on laboratory mice showed that it is able to cure an animal from a multi-resistant strain of Staphylococcus aureus, and no side effects were noted. Testing "in vitro", that is, "in glass", showed the ability of the antibiotic to destroy resistant strains of a number of infections, such as the anthrax pathogen, the diarrhea pathogen - clostridia, tuberculosis bacillus and staphylococcus.
With luck, an antibiotic in ampoules will appear by 2019.
