There is such a consortium -
W3C , which is known for developing various standards for Internet sites. This time they have developed a standard for mobile sites. In other words, the W3C streamlined the accumulated knowledge of many WAP masters in one document, which was called
Mobile Web Best Practices 1.0 . You can read it
here .
The document begins with a preface and table of contents, followed by “List of Best Practices”, or as I would call this part “how to and how not to do”. The 60 points briefly describe what should be avoided when creating a site, and what should be approached more closely. For example - “do not use iframe on your sites”, or “the menu at the top of the page should be the minimum size”, etc.
I advise everyone who is involved in the development of wap sites to read at least 60 of these short points.

“Mobile Internet content developers now have clear guidelines and tools to help create better mobile Internet experience,” said Dominique Hazaël-Massieux, head of the W3C Mobile Web Activity. “By supporting the W3C mission in building a unified web, we want to support the developer community by providing tools to ensure the best quality of the mobile web.” procontent.ru
If a consortium such as W3C takes on such work as creating standards for wap sites, then this shows us how alive the mobile Internet is and is ready to develop! And to us, wap masters, it is only on hand;)
ZY I just want to cut off comments like “wap died unborn”, etc.
There is such a thing as wap 2.0. New phones are coming out, new applications are being written to them ... As a result, everything is getting better, even mobile Internet. So ... this best mobile Internet has the name wap 2.0. And the role of this very wap 2.0 in the world wide web is not small, since not everyone has a computer, but almost all of us have a mobile phone ...
