Notabenoid returns

At the reincarnation of the resource appeared stub to enter

On October 27 last year, amateur translators were unpleasantly surprised: the project “Notabenoid”, which was popular in RuNet, was closed under pressure from copyright holders. But now it is back, albeit in a slightly different format.

Countless robots surf the Internet every day. Some of them belong to copyright advocates. These copies find references to defendant works and automatically write complaints to hosting providers, accompanying messages with threats of legal prosecution.

This is exactly how the Note closed: after numerous warnings, the hosting provider Hetzner ran out of patience.

The author of the project, Dmitry Romakhin, even then promised that “Notabenoid” will return, but will have an underground status: registration and access to the resource will be limited to the invitation system. Thus, dissatisfied right holders will be eliminated.

Apparently, that's what happened. At the moment, at the notabenoid.org stub there is a login form and a message about the privacy of the site. No contact details for invitations were left.

There is no official announcement of the beginning of the site. On the other hand, it is strange to expect official statements from a resource whose activities must remain secret.

The old Notabenoid was a platform for collective translation. Projects - most often these were books and subtitles of foreign serials, films and video games - were divided into many small parts, the order of their size was one or several sentences. Then the participants, whose number was determined by the project settings, could offer their own versions of the translation of each of the parts and vote for the most appropriate.
