The Tesla Model S electric car will charge itself with a robotic arm

Tesla is developing a new way to charge electric vehicles with a robotic arm, which, as you might expect, will literally plug the car into an outlet — wrote Ilon Musk on his twitter.

Musk, as many technical observers assume, considers such a factor as the owners' inattention to charging the Model S. Assuming that after a long day, the driver may simply not pay attention to the charge level, and in the morning find the battery of an electric car discharged, a special robotic flexible (“as the snake ”) the manipulator will independently turn on the machine into an outlet without the driver’s participation.

The opportunity announced by Ilon Mask will be available not only for new models of electric cars, but also for existing ones.

It is worth recalling that, in addition to the usual connection to the charging station, Tesla offers the option of quickly replacing the battery of an electric vehicle on special robotic stations in three minutes: unlike free charging, this service is charged.
