On
the Russian Internet Bloggers Law page on Intel’s official website, it is reported that there has been a forced closure of a number of social components of the Intel Developer Zone resource since January 1 of this year. In particular, three actions are performed:
- Closes the ability to publish blogs in Russian;
- Disables Russian-speaking forum;
- Disable comments to the content in Russian.
The changes do not affect the English-speaking sections of the site, that is, you can still communicate in English. Russian-speaking users are invited to read the
Intel blog on Habrahabr , join the
VKontakte group and add a
page to Google+ on the circles.
The error page states that the need for such steps is caused by Law No. 97-FZ, also known as the “Law on Bloggers”.
')
The law came into force on August 1, 2014. According to federal law, site owners throughout the Internet (including pages of social networking services) with an audience of over 3000 users per day are required to register with Roskomnadzor and comply with Russian legislation, for example, not swearing. For any site with 3000 or more unique visitors per day, the same requirements and restrictions apply as for regular media.
Apparently, the management of the site Intel Developer Zone does not want to follow the new law and prefers to freeze some parts of the resource instead. It affects not only Russians, but also residents of the CIS countries and far abroad, for whom the discussion of technical information in Russian is customary.
Earlier, the
deputy head of Roskomnadzor deleted his microblogging on Twitter . The number of subscribers to his account has exceeded 3000.
