For many years, copyright holders publish information about the money received from the "pirates". As a rule, we are talking about tens, if not hundreds, of millions of US dollars.
The MPAA documents published at the end of 2013 are not an exception. In a press release distributed by the MPAA to the mass media, the
amounts of $ 110 million received from IsoHunt and
$ 80 million received from the Hotfile were mentioned. In fact, the numbers here are much more modest, although the amounts are also quite decent.

Torrentfreak reporters found that the amount received from Hotfiles is actually only 4 million US dollars, not 80 million. The latter figure was voiced for the press, apparently, to intimidate "pirates."
At the same time, all 4 million were transferred by the MRAA, Hotfile fulfilled all the conditions of the pre-trial agreement. Most likely, 110 million from IsoHunt and 110 million from TorrentSpy - the same fiction as 80 million from Hotfile.
