NASA's monkey-less robot in 2015 will take part in the competition DARPA
RoboSimian , a robot from NASA, will travel in June 2015 to the annual DARPA Robotics Challenge . The team has been developing its robot for 2 years. RoboSimian moves on four limbs with many “joints”. He is able to step over obstacles and move over rough terrain, walking on four "legs." In addition, bending the "rear" legs, he finds himself on four wheels - a pair in the "legs", the second pair - at the bottom of the "torso". Thus, it can quickly roll on smooth surfaces. Also, the robot is equipped with seven cameras from different sides. The photo is a prototype of a two-year-old robot.
In the competition DARPA Robotics Challenge teams compete, creating robots that must act in dangerous situations, close to the conditions of an urban disaster. Whether it is a natural disaster, war or terrorism - the robots have to dismantle the rubble, move through the heaps of rubbish, open the doors and operate with various levers and locks. This year, the robots will also have to climb into the car, hold it for some distance and climb back, cut through the wall with tools, open the valve in the pipe. ')

Glory to the robots!
The DARPA Robotics Challenge has been held by the United States Defense Development Research Agency since 2012. Various semi-autonomous robots are being developed for the competition, as well as software for managing them. In addition to the use of these robots in the conditions of modern cities, their use in the future at space stations and settlements on other planets is seen.
