Lawsuits related to copyright, social networks, censorship, are quite remarkable. Recently it became known about the next such lawsuit, which plans to file the Ministry of Culture of Brazil. The defendant will be the social network Facebook. The reason for the claim? Brazilian officials are unhappy with the fact that Facebook has blocked a
photo of a nude to the waist of the Indian tribe Aimore. The photo was taken back in 1909, and it is clear that this picture has historical significance - there is nothing seditious, in principle, there is not.
However, the social network decided to block the photo, and then refused to unlock the picture. The Brazilian Ministry of Culture considered Facebook to censor historical material. Officials will seek to unlock a photo from Facebook in court.
The snapshot itself was posted on the Web as part of the upcoming launch of Brasiliana Fotografica, a Brazilian photo site with a large array of historical snapshots. The project also involves the National Library Fund and the Instituto Moreira Salles. As you can see, nothing reprehensible - only science and history. According to Brazilian officials, the situation could not be changed during a telephone conversation with a Facebook representative - the social network refused to unlock the photo.

Later, Facebook did
return the picture to the public domain, but the situation itself had a very negative effect on the Brazilian opinion about the social network. As a result, the claim will still be filed in court. Facebook continues to insist that all actions were carried out in accordance with company policies. In particular, the social network prohibits the publication of materials with the image of a naked body.
