Interactive screens in elevators

5 years lived in a city with a large number of skyscrapers and elevators. The buttons in the elevators are despondent.

The office district of a modern city consists of dozens of lobbies with elevators, many times more than the elevator booths themselves and hundreds of hours, totally spent in waiting for the elevator and in the cab itself. All this is accompanied by buttons, occasionally small screens with looped ads, in some cases - digital screens showing the number of the floor.

What is there to do? We put a large touch monitor with a beautiful interface, big buttons. Outside the elevator in the lobby and inside. We connect the monitor and its control PC with a classical control system.

In addition to the elevator call interface, we also get a beautiful display of floors with animation, an advertising and information space, an audio-video notification and monitoring system, an integrated access control system, a mini-directory of offices.

By the way, with a built-in computer, an elevator can be made a place for corporate communications. For example, go into the elevator, and he will give you “Good morning, Ivan Petrovich. We remind you about the meeting at 14:00. ” Or, the elevator tells the crowd inside: “Let's congratulate Elizabeth Pavlovna on her birthday!”, Determining that such a person is in the cabin, and at the same time bringing the bouquet to the screen.

Let's go back to the pictures. Before - the sad indicators above the doors (for which you also have to turn up your head) and buttons:

After - custom interfaces with smiling women and laughing children.

Integration would seem simple - to install a flat-panel PC format all-in-one in a metal case with a shock-resistant touch screen, and a couple of interface boards. The rest is software. And Wi-Fi to update the information on the screen would be caught on the floors.

The screens in the system can be divided into informational (i) and control ©, or mixed:

These are all ideas and prototypes. In life, one project came right up close, but then they changed management and a year later saw the result from a different supplier - a little ugly little screen somewhere under the ceiling in the elevator.

Do elevator companies have similar solutions? Yes, but they look unusually poor.

And finally, another concept picture:
