Another talented Russian scientist passed away

image February 27, 2015 at 23:31 in Moscow on Vasilyevsky Spusk Boris Yefimovich Nemtsov , one of the famous Russian physicists, tragically passed away.

short biography

He studied in Gorky , graduated from school with a gold medal, a university with honors. In 1976 he entered the radiophysical faculty of the Gorky State University. N. I. Lobachevsky . Nemtsov's cousin, the son of Vilen Eidman, Igor Eidman , also studied at the University of Gorky. In 1997 he moved to Moscow.

Then he worked in research institutes. He was engaged in the problems of plasma physics, acoustics and hydrodynamics. In 1985, working at NIRFI with his maternal uncle, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Vilen Yakovlevich Eidman, co-authored V. V. Kurin in the article “A precursor and lateral waves in the reflection of pulses from the interface between two media”. In 1985 he defended his thesis and received the degree of candidate of physical and mathematical sciences (theme: "Coherent effects of the interaction of moving sources with radiation"). He is the author of more than 60 scientific papers on quantum physics, thermodynamics, acoustics ... Among Nemtsov's inventions, there is an acoustic laser (superheated steam cools a lot, powerful infrasound arises) and some antenna parameters for a spacecraft (when a ship enters the Earth’s atmosphere due to its heating the ship is lost - the invention of Nemtsov removed the interference of communication). He worked as a tutor in physics, mathematics and English.

Academician V.L. Ginzburg spoke about him in 1997:
He studied at the radio propagation department, which I organized on the radio faculty, was a graduate student of two of my graduate students: Eydman, his uncle, and Denisov. He is a truly talented physicist, he has a lot of good work.

Attention, this is a topic about a scientist, lasers and coherence, but not about politics.

From the interview for the TV channel “3 CHANNEL”, GREAT SWIMMING from 11/30/2002

Host: You also had, if I'm not mistaken, more than 60 scientific papers. It was not a pity to quit and start engaging in politics - is it still a thankless task?

Boris Nemtsov: Listen, it was so long ago when I threw it. Although the last scientific work on the acoustic laser, by the way, the last scientific work was published in 1997, that is, when I was already working in the government as first vice-premier, an article appeared, and it appeared in the Swiss journal Acoustics Acworth, and it was phenomenal case, by the way. The article is devoted to an acoustic laser. And suddenly Chernomyrdin calls and says: “Can you come in?” I enter. He holds this article in his hand and says: “What are you doing at work? You have to deal with the coal industry, you have to deal with pensions, and you write scientific articles here. ” I say: "Viktor Stepanovich, I sent this article many years ago, just in the West, too, the bureaucracy, they published it for a long time." He could not believe it.
