We often talk about the importance of mobile photography for us. And not only we speak, but we also do - we set records on the number ofmegapixels , cooperate with Zeiss , develop special software that can extract the maximum from the capabilities of our smartphones.
Today we want to tell how using Microsoft technologies you can turn panoramic shots from your Lumia (by the way, from any other device too) into ultra-wide works of art. All you need is a new version of the Image Composite Editor (ICE) from our Microsoft Research division. ')
If you have ever tried to capture the beauty of mountain landscapes or any large-scale structures, you do not need to explain how difficult it is. Because of their huge size, you usually have to take a lot of detailed pictures, which you need to later combine into one large-scale photo.
With the latest update of the powerful professional editor Image Composite Editor, this task has become much easier.
Colleagues from the Computational Photography Group Microsoft Research made the new version of ICE more intuitive and added a bunch of new features — such as Automatic Image Completion, which uses pattern recognition technology to fill in missing parts of your panorama. .
Another cool feature is the creation of panoramas from the video. Suppose you shot a video with the help of your Lumia, in which your friend does different tricks on a skateboard. If you feed this video ICE, then you can easily select the necessary frames from the video and glue the photos from them with the effect of the stroboscopic movement. Simply put, the photo will show how your friend rolls, jumps and spins all his crazy feints. And all this - just a few clicks!
And that's not all - ICE has several filters for creating effects such as fisheye, spherical and stereographic photos.
If we could interest you, install ICE on your computer, it is absolutely free. Working with the application is divided into 4 simple steps - import, gluing, framing and exporting. Speaking of the latter, you can save photos in a bunch of formats and share them on the Photosynth website (yes, ICE did the same guys).
Finally - a big request to anyone who installs and tries: please share your opinion (and your photos) in the comments. We (colleagues from Microsoft Research in particular) are very important to your opinion.
