Today it became
known that the US government approved all expenditure items of the NASA budget. Now the size of the budget is 18.5 billion US dollars. The amount will be spent, in particular, on the implementation of projects for the creation of the Orion capsule, the Space Launch System heavy booster rocket, the James Webb telescope and some other projects that are currently being developed.
In particular, it is allocated 1.2 billion dollars for the Commercial Crew program. NASA has contracted with Boeing and SpaceX, companies that will deliver astronauts to the ISS using the newly developed spacecraft. All this will reduce the dependence of the US space industry on other countries, in particular, Russia.
It is worth noting that funding was also given to the somewhat controversial mission of transferring an asteroid to the orbit of the moon, where astronauts will study the asteroid. It is planned that an asteroid close to the Earth will be delivered to the Moon by a robotic spacecraft. After the object is delivered to the moon, the asteroid will begin to study astronauts who will travel to their destination in Orion.

Another 5.3 billion is planned to be allocated for the study of outer space. This means funding the project to create the next-generation rover, the development of a robotic probe to study Europe, the satellite of Jupiter.
In general, NASA has now received money for almost all of its projects, the financing of which was requested earlier.
